Introduction

In the business operations of a company that uses information system and technology to conduct every activity smoothly internally and externally have created different types of legal, social, ethical and professional issues. These issues have raised challenges to the companies as how to protect from these concerns (Warren, 2018). The legal, social, ethical and professional issues of the information system and technology disturb the life of the people and the businesses as well in the market. Therefore, the legal, social, ethical and professional issues of IS and IT are not only harmful to the companies, but also affect the life of common people that are using information technology (Warren, 2018). Now, this paper would discuss different issues related to legal, social, ethical and professional aspects because of the use of information system and technologies. These issues can be describes as below:

Legal Issues:
Information technology has become the most important part of the human being in present world. The information technology has no overarching standardization in place to use in the life of the people. Therefore, the probability of legal issues can be seen in the use of IT in the business operations. The main legal issues of the IT are data gathering and digital ownership (Kramer, Kinn & Mishkind, 2015). In the case of collecting data by a company in its business operations of their valuable customers and uses for personal benefits, it leads towards legal issues. The law of most of countries has prohibited gathering data of the customers regarding their personal interests, transactional history, or any other personal information. This legal issue invokes a consent question because people do not know what information is being gathered by the organizations using information technology (Kramer, Kinn & Mishkind, 2015).

Furthermore, the digital ownership issue can be seen as copying of intellectual property of other companies, such as misuse of copyright in the current digital mediums. Copying trademark of a company, such as artistic creations and commercial symbols and pasting online to conduct businesses secretly is illegal and it is hard to control in this Internet world where billions of information circulated online (Kargl, Lawrence & Fischer, 2008). In music and entertainment industries, the misuse of intellectual property rights has pushed the companies for greater legal protections. The legal issues of the use of information system and technology can also be recognized as freedom of expression of the people. The malicious minds people use the technology as creating edited video or voice to spread rumors about religious agitation between two different community and misinformation to initiate protest against government for illegal demand (Kargl, Lawrence & Fischer, 2008).

Social Issues:
The social issues concerns are basically linked to selling personal information of the customers to other businesses instead of taking consent of the people. Selling data has become a great source of income for many organizations because they collect information of the internet users and online customers (Beulen, 2008). Apart from this, the identity theft of the individuals in fraudulent activities and use them for malicious purposes or blackmailing has possible using IS or IT. Fraud cases with the people in the present information world have increased because of easily connectivity with the use of technology and sharing information to unknown person. Most of the unknown calls received by illiterate people and they share banking information with them (Sligo, Gauld, Roberts & Villa, 2017). This social concern makes most of people bankrupt without their knowledge, just because of the misuse of information system and technology.

The social issue of the use IS or IT can also be seen as gaming addiction of youth and children. However, the use of information system and technology to play videogames and participate in gambling impact all age’s group as loss of health and money at large extent. The health issues that occur in the addiction of playing videogames are the loss of vision, obesity, poor skills development of the children, and poor eating habits (Sligo, Gauld, Roberts & Villa, 2017). Apart from this, the social issues of the use of IS and UT can be seen as terrorism and crime that exploit the web in nefarious purposes. The use of information system and technology have become threats to the common people in entire world because terrorist groups take advantage of IS and technologies in bomb blasts and illegal money transactions as well as selling drugs (Sligo, Gauld, Roberts & Villa, 2017).

Ethical Issues:
Privacy is one of the main ethical issues when using information technology to access towards personal data and checking habits of employees on computer activities. The use of information technology to monitor accounts of the people basically in the banking sector and providing information to the commercial organization is an ethical issue because it creates privacy concerns and eroding an individual’s right to privacy completely (Fowkes, 2019). At the same time, the information technology uses also raise privacy concerns when monitoring the internet browsing history of the people by social media companies and provide the information to marketers.

Furthermore, security issues have become more complicated in the present world because of breaching vital information of the people. The cyber criminals are using information technology effectively to invade security system of a company or accounts of a person. The digital networks are computerized and Internet has provided accessibility at the global level (Ikenwe & Anaehobi, 2020). This system is utilized by cyber criminals to break the password of security system of computers at any places and breach the confidential data or information easily. This security concern is an ethical issue that has created risk with freedom of the people and big threat to the financial organizations.

Professional Issues:
The professional issues generally occurs in the organization culture when IS or IT is used to make video or take photo of female employees for sexual harassment. Additionally, the use of information system in sending vulgar messages and videos to the female employees within an organization becomes professional issues for the company. Such types of professional issues in the use of technology and information system harm the reputation of the company in the market (Warren, 2018). There are so many cases of professional issues of the use of information system and technology related to rape case videos and uploading on the internet. Thus, new guidelines within an organization should be implemented to protect professional issues at the workplace effectively.

Conclusion

The discussion on the legal, social, ethical, and professional issues related to the use of information system and technology have provided in-depth knowledge and understanding as the IS and IT have raised bad impact on the life of the people. The business organizations have take advantage of the IT and ARE at large extent, but the social and ethical issues due to these systems have not controlled on the priority basis in the society and within an organization. The social issues due to the use of information system and technology need to consider on the priority basis to reduce its bad impact on health and financial transaction of the people. Furthermore, the misuse of information system of the organizations through gathering personal information of the users or customers and other data in getting financial advantage; needs to control through making strong rules and regulations by the government.
