Question:
Discuss About The Noise Barrier in Communication
Answer:
Introduction
Communication barrier can be stated as the interference which can take place at the time of transmission in any of the information in-between senders as well as the receiver (Norouzi et al., 2015). The effective form of communication could be impacted in case of any form of external force shall act in-between sender as well as receiver. The barriers shall represent frictions or else hurdles which shall have a distortion over effective form of communication (Norouzi et al., 2015). In this context, this report illustrates two varied ways by which the noise shall act to be a barrier.
Noise Barriers and Effective Communication
In effect, communication shall comprise five different general components as follows, [1] the source of information, that is, sender. The same leads to the production of message. In case of say an oral mode of conversation, source of the information shall just be the concerned speaker, [2] transmitter, that is, the component encoding the messages in the form of signals, [3] channel, that us, signals shall be adapted for being the channel to undertake transmission (Velentzas & Broni, 2014), [4] receiver, that is, the decoding or else the reconstruction if the message by way of received signals shall be undertaken in this component, and [5] destination, that is, the same shall be where messages shall arrives. In case of oral conversations, destination shall simply be a listener (Velentzas & Broni, 2014).
Distractions in the form of noise entails the abilities for disruption in flow with respect to information in-between any of the varied five different stages. The same is to state that issues pertaining to communication concerning the distraction shall have an impact on the concerned sender, message in itself, channel that shall get sent through or else recipient concerning the specific message (Fredriksson & Pallas, 2015). Barriers with respect to effective communication shall essentially reduce productivity at the level of firm as well as, in case serious, could lead to diseconomies in scale at the firm level. The barriers for communication shall usually be referred to that of noise. In effect, noise shall be anything which shall get in way of the effective form of communication as well as will distort or else block the specific message. In essence, larger sized organisations shall be highly complex and shall need sophisticated form of methods as well as systems to communicate in case they shall be in avoiding possible set of issues (Fredriksson & Pallas, 2015).
Amongst the various barriers to communication, noise barriers shall make contributions towards breakdown of communication within most of the instances. To a fundamental extent, three different types in noise barriers can be noted to be as follows: [1] internal form of noise barriers, [2] semantic form of noise barriers, and [3] external form of noise barriers (Guffey & Loewy, 2021). At the time of analysis concerning internal barriers, the four key factors of relevance include values, belief, defensiveness and assumptions and these are of critical significance. Whilst sending any of the information to intended receivers, overall setup of mind concerning a person need to be suitably taken in consideration. In this context, a speaker who is good shall at all times be an effective form of listener and shall hear what the lesser speakers shall actually fail to. Often, people shall not actually listen in manner that is focussed with an intent for understanding in a comprehensive manner and instead they usually listen with an intent for replying (Guffey & Loewy, 2021). The same leads to noise to take place and affecting the quality of overall communication. In effect, the greatest form of gift which an individual could offer to other individual shall be purity with respect to attention over what is being stated by the individual. In case an individual fails in listening others or else fails in formulation clear idea prior to start speaking, a noise barrier shall take place in the communication. In effect, internal barriers shall also happen by way of premature evaluations, misinterpretation, semantic barriers, cultural barriers, and other such factors (Guffey & Loewy, 2021).
External barriers shall take in the context of communication channels or else mediums that shall be shared from the level of both sender as well as receiver (Adu-Oppong & Agyin-Birikorang, 2014). In general, the stated forms in barriers shall neither be made at the level of senders or at the level of receivers. In assuming two different individuals shall communicate amongst one other with respect to any of the digital channels as well as in a sudden manner the said medium shall break it down, in that case, concerned listener shall be unable in listening to intended sender later on. Further, two individuals communicating shall essentially talk and, in this context, any of the third person shall interfere in-between them. In that case, the represents another form in the external form of noise barriers (Adu-Oppong & Agyin-Birikorang, 2014). Further additionally, whilst over two individuals shall communicating amongst one other as well as everybody shall strive in shoring their perspectives amongst one other, in that case, no one shall have the ability for understanding what another individual shall strive in saying. In effect, traffic noise represents another external form of noise barrier. In this context, environmental climate that is closed shall be referred to another communicant barrier that is external. The overall art in effective communication shall focus on a language linked to leadership instead of plain communication, and the same represents real act concerning leadership (Adu-Oppong & Agyin-Birikorang, 2014).
The approach for reducing barriers and noise to ensure effective form of communication shall include the following: [1] the utilisation of the matrix system with respect to management and the same shall be considered for helping to breakdown certain conventional form of barriers which shall prevail in the context of organisation as well as in reducing the communication flows, [2] designing of flatter hierarchies, and in this manner reduce the overall distances in-between giver as well as receiver of the information (Fredriksson & Pallas, 2015), [3] encouraging to undertake de-layering as well as consequently removal of certain layers using which communication shall pass can be undertaken, and [4] an approach called management by objectives can be used for the purposes of encouraging increased levels of communication amongst the parties who are involved directly to get the required tasks for being undertaken (Fredriksson & Pallas, 2015).
Conclusion
This report essentially described two varied approaches by which the noise shall act to be significant barrier with respect to effective form of communication. In essence, barriers could be considered to entail varied types in the form of living based barriers as well as non-living based barriers. Even in case, noise shall usually represent a non-living form of barrier, the same usually in case of various instances shall get generated from the living beings. Hence, for the purposes of achieving complete communication, the initial action shall be in identifying the reasons with respect to noise as well as later on need to reduce the same. The proper form of communication needs to follow all of the communicational steps akin to sender, the medium for communication, receiver, and feedbacks.
