Mar 13,23Question:
Based on Griffith’s Employability Framework this assessment item is designed to prepare students for “transitioning out” to a career in their chosen field.
Job Review and Employment Application
Job Review and Application
Rationale:
For the purposes of assessment only, students are required to search on-line and apply for a position related to their career interests. This position should be the type of position students would wish to apply for upon graduation. The position should be a realistic graduate position and can be located anywhere in the world. Students should also indicate in the introduction the name of the position, company and location where they are applying. Students will be required to indicate their interest in this position and undertake “mock” job-application, including a cover letter and resume, as they would if they were actually applying for the position.
This assignment aims to assist students with the graduation recruitment process. The assignment requires students to identify a position that is currently available, and that they would consider applying for upon graduation. Students should indicate where the position was found and attach the employment advertisement as an appendix to the assignment. Specifically, students are required to:
- Identify a current position (job) that they would like to apply for upon graduation (this should be a realistic graduate position)
- Within the introduction, provide a brief overview of the position, the organisation, and where the position was found.
- Outline your motivation and interest in applying for this position and why you would seek employment with this organisation
- Provide a simulated application for the position, including a cover letter, (which addresses the selection criteria) and a resume/CV, tailored to the specific position. Please follow the format suggested in class.

Answers to the given questions
Question 1
According to the current job market, students have to analyse their career interests thoroughly and minutely. Career is an important phase of their life, this definition is introduced at the very beginning of their life. Students need to understand the consequences and the outcomes of their trials to achieve their goals too. In recent times, many career assessment centres provide in-depth knowledge of the career interests the students have developed (Dagyar, Kasalak & Ugurlu, 2020). These centres perform certain assessment tests that extract an assumption of career interests and the capability of the students to acquire that particular career interest as well as other options. These other options would be considered as those options that would be taken into consideration if the trials to achieve a particular pre-decided career interest fail. Some students even prefer to keep on trying for several career interests whichever they find themselves to be eligible for. During graduation, the students apply for all the options that can be applied for them. The job position that can be referred currently, based on the graduation degree, is of a digital marketing executive. This job position consists of the field of marketing and advertising industry. According to the current digitization mode, this field is gaining in terms of market demand. The youth is already accustomed to social media platforms. Therefore, this field includes many experiences in different variations of topics related to social media.

Question 2
The students, at the phase of their completion of school days, are already driven towards career goals. The students through their school days continue to study according to the decision either decided by their parents or by themselves. The students are directed towards the path that would lead them to that particular pre-decided career goal. Here, the pre-decided career option opted by the student is of a marketing executive. A marketing executive works in the field of marketing and advertising. The skills required for the current job are analytical, marketing, communication, networking, adaptability, commercial awareness IT and numerical skills, and design-thinking process (Schiele & Chen, 2018). The youth is already growing along with technology. This technology is easily adapted by them and far better understood by them. The marketing and advertising field is incorporating this digitalisation in their process. Therefore, the students will be able to understand their processing easily and will be able to generate innovative ideas in this field. The marketing and advertising company that the student is aiming for is Deloitte digital which is situated in New York. This company has been in the field for many years. This company has even brought out some innovative ideas that have been useful during this era. This company is one of the popular marketing and advertising companies worldwide. The job position was found on the LinkedIn website which was provided by the company itself. There are many more opportunities but they require experience in the field.

Question 3
The marketing and advertising field involves applications of social media platforms and other marketing devices for the enrichment of client companies. This field is a place to display creativity openly to the world. This field is attractive since they provide learning and experiences in this field as per social media platforms. I think this is the best method to explore the field of creativity. I have always aimed to be in the field of creativity and innovation, where there is no limit to the application of technology. The incorporation of technology would also help to get adapted to its application in daily activities. I too would have applied for the job position of a marketing executive, as the space of learning and experiencing the work field related to creativity would be available, along with high demand in other companies with flexible income ranges. It is a fact that employment is associated not only with career interests but also with the income that is possible to earn through this job position. The experiences gathered are an additive practical experience of the field which is also required for further better opportunities. This company includes cloud computing, design strategy, as well as the mobile web as its services (Bazzoun, 2019). Deloitte digital is popular for providing such ambiance to employees. It has always provided opportunities to the employees to explore the job profile and related aspects of the job. Therefore, I would have applied to work with this organisation to gain a competitive yet learned experience with this organisation.
